The Codicil of Aaron Collett (1M33) of Stonehouse

made on 29th January 1835

 

 

 

Whereas I Aaron Collett of Stonehouse in the County of Gloucester carpenter and wheelwright have made and duly executed my last Will and Testament in writing bearing date on or about the nineteen day of January without.

 

Now I do hereby declare this testament writing to be a codicil to my said Will and I direct the same to be assigned thereto and taken as part thereof I give and bequeath All my Oak, Ash and Beech Timber lying and being at Oxlinch or elsewhere thereto unto my friends John Stephens and Walter Cadogan therein Executors Administrators and Assigns upon trust that they my said trustees or the survivor of them has Executor or Administrators do and shall sell the same immediately after my decease in such manner and for such place as they or he may think proper and out of the monies to arise from such sale I direct my said Trustees to pay to my Daughter Nancy Collett the sum of nine pounds which she advanced to enable me to pay for the said timber.

 

And I direct that the residue of the said monies shall be offered as and towards the payment of my financial expenses and debts.  And I confirm the devise to my said Daughter Nancy Collett contained in my said Will in satisfactory of all former debt due from and to her.  And I hereby confirm my said Will in every other respect except where the same is hereby altered in witness whereof I the said Aaron Collett have to this codicil set my Hand and Seal this twenty ninth day of January one thousand eight hundred and thirty five.

 

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Aaron Collett as and for a Codicil to his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto.

 

 

 

The Codicil was witnessed by Kenard Gardiner of Stonehouse, George Spearing of Stonehouse, and John Hughes Warman solicitor of Stonehouse and

was signed by Aaron Collett (Ref. 1M33) in his own hand
